Shops and establishments registration
You register your shop or establishment under the Shops and Establishments Act on the Labour Department's portal, get the certificate, and renew it every year.
For whom: Owners of a shop, hotel, restaurant, office, godown or other business establishment in Telangana. Registration is needed even with no staff, or with 10 or fewer.
Published on 30-10-2026. Not every fact has been checked against its official source yet: confirm at the office.
Answer a few questions to see which steps apply to you. The whole guide is below.

Not confirmed: The Labour Department's pages differ on how to pay: the procedure says "online fee payment", the checklist asks for a "Mee-seva fees payment receipt", and the FAQs say through MeeSeva centres. Pay the way the portal shows. The checklist page still shows an older, lower fee table (from before 2016); the table here is from G.O.Ms.No.54 (2016).

If something goes wrong

If it is rejected
See on the SMS or the portal what the officer said and what to fix, and fix it. If you think it is unfair, you can complain about an Assistant Labour Officer to the Assistant Commissioner of Labour, about them to the Deputy Commissioner, about them to the Joint Commissioner, and about them to the Commissioner of Labour; or register a complaint on the portal.

If it is late
The department's procedure says that with no adverse order after 30 days, the registration is deemed granted. If the certificate does not come, call the Labour Department call centre on 08069434343, or contact the Assistant or Deputy Commissioner of Labour at the district headquarters.

If you are asked for more money
The online application needs no visit to an office. The fee is only the one in the table above; if anyone asks for more, ask for a receipt and complain on the Labour Department complaints portal or to the call centre.

If you get an order revoking or suspending the certificate, you can appeal to the appellate authority within 30 days of receiving it; the authority must hear you and decide within two months. Ask the department which authority that is.
