2.
Ask the Panchayat Secretary (in a village) or the ward officer (in a town) whether new housing applications are being taken now, and where to give one.
🏛️ Gram panchayat office or municipal ward office
Not confirmed: Under the 2024 order, houses are sanctioned from the applications received in Praja Palana. The Indiramma website shows a notice "Application window extended till 15 June 2026" without saying which applications or where to give them, and we found no order behind it. We found no official notice on how new applications are taken after Praja Palana.

How far has building gone on your site? Not started; a 400 sq ft house fits on the ground floor / Not started; the plot is too small for 400 sq ft on the ground floor / We built up to basement level under the old Indiramma scheme, Gruhalakshmi, or on our own
3.
A surveyor visits with the Indiramma app to check your application (in a village usually the Panchayat Secretary; in a town the ward officer or an officer the Collector names). You or your spouse stand in front of the house you live in now for a photo; they also photograph the roof, the walls and the inside. Show the document for your site.

Not confirmed: The survey of Praja Palana applications began in December 2024. Ask the Panchayat Secretary or ward officer whether yours has already been surveyed.
4.
Look for your name in the lists placed before the Grama Sabha or Ward Sabha. List 1: eligible, with a site. List 2: eligible, without a site. List 3: not eligible, with the reasons. Raise any objection at the Sabha.
🏛️ Grama Sabha / Ward Sabha
5.
Wait for the sanction. The District Collector sanctions houses to the eligible people the Grama Sabha approved. The house is sanctioned in the name of the woman of the family (or of a widower). Staff the Collector designates in the village or town hand you a copy of your sanction order (proceeding).

Not confirmed: The 2026 order (G.O.Rt.No.96) says the plinth area is 400 to 600 sq ft under the scheme guidelines; the 600 sq ft limit is not in the 2024 order. Ask the housing official about the upper limit.

8.
You may build a ground-plus-one (G+1) house. The carpet area of both floors together must be at least 30 sq m (323 sq ft). The largest room at least 9 sq m (96 sq ft), 2.5 m wide; the next room at least 6.5 sq m (70 sq ft), 2.1 m wide; the kitchen at least 3.3 sq m (35.5 sq ft), 1.5 m wide; rooms at least 2.6 m high. A toilet and a bathroom are compulsory. It must be an RCC framed structure, with the design approved by the Deputy Executive Engineer (Housing). The house must open directly onto a public road and must not encroach on roads or other public space.

9.
You may continue from the basement you have already built. The plinth area must be between 400 and 600 sq ft: if it is under 400, lay extra plinth beams to bring it to 400; if it is larger, limit it to 600. Your eligibility is checked again.

10.
After each stage an official photographs it on the app; the mandal-level engineer (the Checker) checks it and the Collector approves the payment. The money goes to your Aadhaar-linked bank account (APBS). ₹5,00,000 in all: ₹1,00,000 at basement level; ₹1,00,000 when the walls reach roof level; ₹2,00,000 when the roof is cast; ₹1,00,000 when the house is complete.

11.
A G+1 house also gets ₹5,00,000, paid in four stages to your Aadhaar-linked bank account: ₹1,00,000 when the ground-floor walls reach roof level; ₹1,00,000 when the ground-floor roof is cast and the first-floor columns reach roof level; ₹2,00,000 when the first-floor roof is cast and the walls of both floors are done; ₹1,00,000 when the house is complete.
Only if

12.
Because the basement is already built, there is no basement-stage payment. The remaining ₹4,00,000 is paid in three stages to your Aadhaar-linked bank account: ₹1,00,000 when the walls reach roof level; ₹2,00,000 when the roof is cast; ₹1,00,000 when the work is finished.

The Indiramma Indlu order (G.O.Ms.No.7 of 2024) and the Housing Corporation's circulars do not mention Indian citizens living abroad. Under them the beneficiary must be a resident of the village or town, and the check looks at whether the person lives there with the family or has migrated. Before applying, ask the Panchayat Secretary (in a village), the ward officer (in a town) or the MPDO / Municipal Commissioner's office whether the scheme applies to you.

A house is sanctioned only on your own site (or one given by the government). People who meet every other condition but have no site are marked eligible and placed in List 2; they are not sanctioned in the first phase, though the details may be used in later phases.

In the Core Urban Region (CURE) around Hyderabad, the Telangana Housing Board is building flats for EWS/LIG families under the name "Indiramma Indlu" (G.O.Ms.No.37 of 2026). Its application status is on the Housing Board website (tghb.telangana.gov.in).
Not confirmed: We found no guidelines on who can get the CURE flats, how to apply or how much a beneficiary pays; the order says only that beneficiaries contribute to the cost. Ask the Housing Board.
