When and how to give your yearly life certificate so your pension does not stop: by face scan on a phone, through the postman at home, or at the bank or treasury.

On the phone, install UIDAI's "AadhaarFaceRD" app first, then the "Jeevan Pramaan" app, from the Play Store (the App Store on an iPhone). AadhaarFaceRD works in the background; you do not open it.

Open the Jeevan Pramaan app. The person using the phone (the operator) enters their Aadhaar number, mobile number and email, then the OTP that arrives, and scans their own face. This is done once; the pensioner can be the operator.

On the "Pensioner Authentication" screen, enter the pensioner's Aadhaar number and mobile number and the OTP. Fill in the name as on Aadhaar and the pension details, give consent, and scan the pensioner's face. Use good light, face the camera straight, with only one person in the frame.

Install the "T App Folio" (MeeSeva) app from the Play Store, and register under "New User" with your phone number, email and the OTP.

Not confirmed: The Treasuries' sheet calls it "MeeSeva App Folio" and the circular "T-APP Folio"; the sheet is undated, and the screens may have changed. The circular suggests the Jeevan Pramaan app (as for central pensioners) is also accepted, but does not say so plainly; ask at the treasury.

In the app, open "Pensioners Life Certificate" and choose "Directorate of Treasuries and Accounts". Tap "Registration" the first time, otherwise "Submit Life Certificate"; enter your PPO ID or account number and name, and tap "Proceed". Take a selfie and submit.

Ask for the life certificate to be done at your home: call the IPPB call centre on 155299, or ask your postman or post office. You do not need an IPPB account. You can also have it done at the post office.

Not confirmed: IPPB says this works only if your pension disbursing agency is live on the digital system. We did not check that Telangana's treasuries are; ask the postman or the treasury.

When the postman comes, give your Aadhaar number, mobile number, PPO number and account number, and confirm with your fingerprint or face. Pay ₹70 (including GST) once the certificate is made. There is no extra charge for coming to your home.

Go to the bank branch (or post office) your pension comes through. They make a digital life certificate with your face or fingerprint. You may give the paper form (Annexure-XIII) instead; the bank must not refuse it.

Not confirmed: The instruction that any branch should make a digital certificate, even where you have no pension account, is from the November 2025 campaign guidelines. We did not find the 2026 campaign guidelines.

You must give the life certificate in person at the treasury office (in Hyderabad, the Pension Payment Office). Uploading through T App Folio is stopped for these pensions; even if you give it through MeeSeva or Jeevan Pramaan, the treasury will ask for it in person.

Write down the "Pramaan ID" in the SMS you get when it is done. After a day, download the certificate with that ID from the Jeevan Pramaan website to see whether it was accepted. It can take a few days to reach the bank.

Write down the "Pramaan ID" in the SMS you get when the postman is done. After a day you can download the certificate with that ID from the Jeevan Pramaan website.

You cannot get this

This guide is not for Cheyutha (Aasara) pensions. That pension is paid only after an Aadhaar check with your fingerprint or iris each time you collect it (G.O.Ms.No.17 of 2014). We found no official order asking Cheyutha pensioners for a separate yearly life certificate.

If you don't have it:

If something goes wrong

If it is late
For central government pensioners: if it is not given by 30 November, the pension stops from December. You can give the life certificate any time after that: once it is recorded, the next payment comes with the arrears. If none was given for three years or more, the pension starts again only after the competent authority sanctions it through the CPAO; ask your bank branch.

We found no order saying what happens if a Telangana government pensioner misses the window, or how the pension restarts. If your pension stops, take your life certificate to your treasury office and ask.

Not confirmed: The Treasuries' sheet says a pension not drawn for over three years ceases and may be renewed after a police enquiry (item 35); it does not say whether this applies to a late life certificate.
If it is rejected
If the digital certificate is not made, it is usually because a detail was wrong. Try again with the right details; if it still fails, give it at your bank branch. For app problems you can call UIDAI on 1947 or email help@uidai.gov.in.

If the face scan fails: use good light and a plain background; hold your face still and straight, and blink; wear glasses only if your Aadhaar photo has them; unlock your Aadhaar or biometrics if they are locked. People who have remarried or been re-employed cannot use the face scan; they give it the usual way at the bank.

For a central government pensioner who cannot leave bed: the face scan can be done at home on a phone. Or send the bank branch a note with a doctor's certificate, and a bank officer will visit the home or hospital to record it. You can also send the Annexure-XIII form signed by, for example, a gazetted officer, a Tahsildar, a police Sub-Inspector in charge of a station, a postmaster or the head of the gram panchayat.

Telangana government pensioners living in villages who are over 75, or too ill to leave bed, can have the Annual Verification Certificate attested by the Executive Officer of the gram panchayat (G.O.Ms.No.205 of 2010).

Not confirmed: This is from the Treasuries' "gist of orders" sheet; we did not read G.O.Ms.No.205 itself. Ask the treasury.
If you are asked for more money
A digital life certificate through the postman costs only ₹70 (including GST); there is no charge for the home visit. If asked for more, complain to the IPPB call centre on 155299. Do not tell anyone your OTP; you enter it in the app yourself.
