PM-KISAN (₹6,000 a year for farmers)

PM-KISAN (₹6,000 a year for farmers)
Who in a Telangana farmer family can get PM-KISAN's ₹6,000 a year, how to register, e-KYC, and what to do when the money does not come.
For whom: Farmer families in Telangana with cultivable land in their names.
Published on 30-10-2026. Not every fact has been checked against its official source yet: confirm at the office.

Only if

Are you already registered for PM-KISAN? No, I need to register
1.
On the PM-KISAN website, open 'New Farmer Registration' under 'Farmers Corner' and give your Aadhaar number, mobile number and state (Telangana). Once Aadhaar is verified, fill in the form and submit it with the self-declaration. If you cannot do it yourself, a nearby Common Service Centre (CSC) can do it.

Not confirmed: The portal does not say what a CSC charges for registration.
2.
If the form says your Farmer ID has not been generated, first get a Farmer ID in the Farmer Registry. In Telangana, AEOs, MeeSeva centres and CSCs do this registration.

📎 Aadhaar card, Land details (pattadar passbook)
Not confirmed: The portal does not say clearly whether registration stops without a Farmer ID; it only offers a download on how to get one.
3.
Your application goes to the State Nodal Officer. Wait while your eligibility is checked against the land records and approved. In Telangana, self-registrations are handled by the Agriculture Extension Officer (AEO) and the Mandal Agriculture Officer (MAO). You can see the status by Aadhaar number under 'Status of Self Registered Farmer/ CSC Farmers' on the portal. If it takes long, see your cluster's AEO.

Not confirmed: No official time limit for approval is given anywhere. The AEOs' role is from the Suryapet district website; we did not see a state-level order.

For everyone

4.
e-KYC is mandatory. Three ways: with an OTP sent to the mobile linked to your Aadhaar, on the PM-KISAN website or app; by scanning your face from home with the PM-KISAN app and the 'Aadhaar Face RD' app; or with your fingerprint at a CSC. It shows in your status within 24 hours. Enter the OTP yourself; never tell it to anyone.

📎 Aadhaar card
💰 Fee: A ₹15 convenience fee if done by fingerprint at a CSC.
Not confirmed: The e-KYC note is dated only '13th Nov', with no year. It says there is an 'e-KYC' link at the top right of the website; on 30-10-2026 we did not see that link on the home page. If you cannot find it, use the app or a CSC. PIB says the post office (India Post Payments Bank) links your mobile to Aadhaar if it is not linked. In Telangana, AEOs also do e-KYC.
5.
Ask your bank whether the account is seeded (linked) with your Aadhaar. If not, get it done. The scheme pays only into an Aadhaar-linked account.

📎 Aadhaar card, Bank passbook
Not confirmed: The guidelines and PIB say the account must be Aadhaar-linked, and PIB says seeding drives are held with CSCs and India Post Payments Bank. None of them describes how to do it at a bank.
6.
Open 'Know Your Status' on the PM-KISAN website and enter your registration number, then the OTP sent to your mobile. It shows eligibility, e-KYC, land seeding, Aadhaar linking and payments. If you do not know your registration number, use 'Know Your Registration No.' on the same page. A nearby CSC can also show you.

7.
If 'Know Your Status' shows that land seeding (entry of your land details) is not done, see the AEO to get your land details entered.

📎 Land details (pattadar passbook)
Not confirmed: PIB says land seeding is mandatory and shows in 'Know Your Status'. We did not see a state order on who corrects it in Telangana; ask the AEO.
8.
Once everything is done, ₹6,000 a year is paid straight into your Aadhaar-linked bank account as three instalments of ₹2,000 (for April–July, August–November and December–March).
✋ You do this yourself

You cannot get this

PM-KISAN is only for farmer families with cultivable land in their names in the land records. Tenant farmers and people farming land in their parents' names do not qualify; once the land passes to you by inheritance, you do. For this scheme a family is husband, wife and minor children.

You cannot get this

The cut-off date for eligibility is 01-02-2019. People who got land after that by purchase, partition or gift do not qualify; only land inherited on a death is an exception. If the family that sold or gave the land has no other cultivable land left, its benefit stops too. The government is holding such cases until a physical check is done.

You cannot get this

Families with anyone in these categories cannot get PM-KISAN. If such a family has already been paid, the money is recovered. The portal's 'Farmers Corner' has 'Voluntary Surrender of PM Kisan Benefits' and 'Online Refund'.

You cannot get this

PM-KISAN is one benefit per family (husband, wife and minor children). If the land is in more than one family member's name, the money goes to the one with the most land. The government is holding cases where two members of a family are paid until a physical check is done.

Documents you need

If you don't have it:
→ Getting a new Aadhaar
Not confirmed: Eligibility is checked against the state land records. The guidelines list survey number and area as optional details; nothing says which land document to show. Ask the AEO.

If something goes wrong

If it is rejected
If your name is not on the eligible list or your registration is rejected, first see the AEO and ask why. Eligible lists are displayed at the panchayat. You can ask the District Level Grievance Redressal Committee to include your name; grievances are to be settled, preferably, within two weeks. On the portal, raise a grievance in the 'Helpdesk - Query Form' with your registration number (or the temporary ID for a new or pending registration) and follow its status there. State and district nodal officers' details are under 'Contact Us' on the portal.

If it is late
If an instalment has not come, check e-KYC, land seeding, the Aadhaar-bank link and eligibility in 'Know Your Status'. If any is missing, payment is stopped; once the cause is resolved, you are paid along with the instalments held back (unless you were rejected under an exclusion). You can also call 155261 to know your status and register a complaint.

pmkisan.gov.in ↗📞 155261
Not confirmed: A 2026 PIB release says 155261 is linked to PM-KISAN complaints, at first in Hindi and English only. The PM-KISAN portal pages we read give no helpline number, and we did not check whether Telugu is available.
Also
If the portal grievance does not resolve it, you can complain to the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare on CPGRAMS, the central government grievance portal.
