⏱️ within 2 days · 48 hours by the GHMC charter for: sweeping not done, garbage not lifted, removing dead animals, catching rabid dogs, and street lights not glowing (other than high masts). 10 working days for other animal menace.
Not confirmed: These times are from GHMC's charter of May 2013 and may have changed. We could not read the charter's rows for potholes and stagnant water clearly. The charter says the SMS number comes for phone and website complaints; it does not mention the app.

Where is the problem? In the Cyberabad or Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation area
6.
Give a written complaint at your corporation's nearest office and get a receipt.
🏛️ Nearest office of the Cyberabad or Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation
Not confirmed: These two corporations were separated from GHMC on 11 February 2026 (G.O.Ms.No.55). We found, or could open, no official page giving their own complaint channels (app, helpline, website). Ask at the office which one to use. If nothing is done, complain on Prajavani.

Where is the problem? In another town: a municipality or municipal corporation
7.
At the Citizen Services Centre of the municipal office, give a written complaint saying what the problem is and where. Get a receipt.
🏛️ Your municipal office (Citizen Services Centre)
Not confirmed: The Municipalities Act says municipalities set up Citizen Services Centres for grievances, and makes drains, street lights and stray animals their duty. But we found no official page giving one online complaint channel or helpline for all municipalities (the CDMA website did not open on 30 October 2026). Ask at the office whether your municipality has an app or a number.

Where is the problem? In a village: the gram panchayat
8.
At the gram panchayat office, give the Panchayat Secretary (or the Sarpanch) the problem and its place in writing. Sanitation, drains, street lights, controlling stray dogs and drinking water are the gram panchayat's duties.
🏛️ Gram panchayat office (Panchayat Secretary)
Not confirmed: The Act sets no time limit for a complaint. But it makes it the Secretary's duty to keep 90% of street lights working at all times, arrange door-to-door garbage collection, and report drinking water problems to the official concerned.

If something goes wrong

If it is late
If nothing is done in time (in GHMC, 48 hours for most of these problems), or the complaint is closed without the work being done, complain on Prajavani online, or go to the Prajavani grievance day at your District Collectorate. Give your old complaint number.
Prajavani (the government's grievance system)
prajavani.cgg.gov.in ↗
Not confirmed: The grievance day may differ by district (Monday in Nalgonda and Hyderabad). The Prajavani website did not open on 30 October 2026.
If it is rejected
In GHMC, if the complaint is turned down or nothing is done, go to the officer the charter names for delays: the Assistant Medical Officer for sweeping, garbage, dead animals and rabid dogs; the Assistant Director (Veterinary) for other animals; the Deputy Executive Engineer (DEE, Electrical) for street lights. Then complain on Prajavani.

Not confirmed: The officers are named in GHMC's charter of May 2013 and may have changed.
Also
If the gram panchayat does nothing, tell the Extension Officer (PR&RD) of your mandal, who inspects its gram panchayats. The District Collector has the power to act when Panchayat Secretaries fail in their duties: complain at the Collectorate's Prajavani.

Also
GHMC's charter asks citizens not to go to agents or middlemen for its services. Making a complaint costs nothing; if anyone asks for money, complain on Prajavani.

Not confirmed: The charter shows no fee for complaints (the fee column for grievances is "-"); it is a 2013 document.
