If something goes wrong
If it is late
If the bank does not reply within 30 days (or a longer time that RBI, NPCI or card rules allow), complain to the RBI Ombudsman. Do it within 90 days after that time runs out. Keep proof of your complaint to the bank. There is no fee.
Not confirmed: The official pages we read give no time within which the police must reply. Ask on 1930 or at the station.
Also
Do not pay anyone who asks for a fee to "get your money back". 1930 is a toll-free number. A complaint to the RBI Ombudsman needs no fee and no agent. After a 1930 complaint, it is the banks that hold the money. If you get such a call, tell 1930.
Not confirmed: We found no official page that warns about "recovery agents" in so many words. What is above is what the official papers say about fees and about banks holding the money. Confirm on 1930.
